The client had scaled rapidly from a single-warehouse distributor to a multi-regional supply network. However, their internal systems had not evolved alongside growth: key operational data was siloed across separate legacy databases, disjointed accounting software, and dozens of macro-heavy spreadsheets.
Operations staff were forced to spend hours daily re-keying data between systems, leading to frequent inventory discrepancies, pricing errors, and delayed shipments. During peak volumes, the risk of stockouts and double-allocations threatened client relationships and created significant operational fragility.
Engineering Architecture & Delivery
I conducted a comprehensive systems and workflow audit, mapping every data flow from initial quotation through order processing, inventory allocation, warehouse pick-pack, and final dispatch. Based on these findings, I architected a unified, multi-role platform that replaced the fragmented tools with a single source of operational truth.
The architecture centered on a high-concurrency FastAPI backend with a strictly normalized PostgreSQL database, utilizing Redis for distributed locking and low-latency inventory state management. Strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) was engineered to ensure sales representatives, warehouse operators, and executive leadership interacted with views tailored precisely to their operational authority.
